I was finally able to go to New York this last weekend! I have wanted to do that since I was about 5 years old. Ryker got to come too! His first flight and his first official vacation. He loved it there because he likes to watch people and he got a ton of attention.
I was only there for three nights and three days which was a perfect amount of time to get a feel for the city, but not enough time to do all that I wanted to do. I did get to see the Empire State building, eat pizza and a hot dog, and walk down Times Square. The only thing I really wanted to do but wasn't able to was go to Central Park. It was right across the street from us too! UGH! The weather was so cold when we finally had time.
We went to a coffee place called Birch Coffee. It was recommended by a good friend of ours and I am glad we went! The Chai Latte was TO-DIE-FOR !! Not too sweet at all which I love. We also got some food there which was, of course, amazing.
While we were walking down Times Square a guy stopped us to tell us Ryker was so cute and looks just like Johnny. :) AHHH made my day! <3
We stayed at the Empire Hotel (beautiful!!) which is the hotel that Chuck Bass owns on Gossip Girl. It was so cool to see where they film some of the scenes! OH and Johnny and I swear that we saw Penn Badgley walking down Broadway while we were eating. He plays Dan Humphrey on Gossip Girl. Penn even gave us eye contact like he knew we knew. Pretty cool!
A few conclusions I came to while there:
- The food was amazing! (and pricey)
- My affinity to live in the city was confirmed
- Taxi drivers are above the law
- Pizza was great, but still not the best I have personally ever had
- It's not as scary as it may seem
- I love how everyone there has a throw-caution-to-the-wind style about them
- I would be a lot thinner if I lived there because I loved taking my nightly walks alone.
I can't wait to get back and do the things that I wanted to do but didn't have time...like TAKE MORE PICTURES!!
Here are a couple anyway...

This and That.
My broadway review went off without a hitch! It was awesome...especially our Saturday night performance. I look forward to seeing the video! I got a lot of great reviews about my performance specifically and about Legally Blonde, which I directed. We were also in the Broomfield Enterprise this year!!
I celebrated my 28th birthday. It was fun. Not a big deal this year which is totally fine!
We went to see Owl City and John Mayer at Red Rocks... It was good! I was struggling climbing Red Rocks which was discouraging because I have been running for like three weeks straight (before we went) so I thought my climbing would be better...BUT I learned a lesson about fitness... if I want to get better at climbing, I need to climb. Period. and I DO want to get better at it.
Last weekend we did the Tour De Fat. 35 miles total on the bike. That was fantastic!! Even Ryker got to do it!!
Ryker is getting so big!! 15 months old (almost) and becoming quite a little man.
He is so talkative and ambitious. He is generally a very happy baby and he is adaptive which is great for our schedules. He is very opinionated though...if he doesn't want something or wants something he will let you know....LOUDLY. He loves reading and if its quiet in his room, that's what he is doing. He has made up his own sign language for a few words such as hungry and play. Hey, whatever works!! I just measured him at exactly 30" tall. He is no longer on the bottle and I am thinking about putting him in a Montessori school two days a week so he has some child to child interaction. All in all, he is doing very well.
Well that's it in a nutshell... I will try to keep this more up to date on what's happening in the Wey house.
Peace!

That Chaps My @$$
Today I went on my first 35 mile bike ride. For most this would seem respectable but it seems like such a small number to me because my husband rides 100 miles all the time!
We did the New Belgium Tour de Fat! We started at my house and road to down town Denver, around city park, hung out drank beer and ate, then rode home. We all dressed up as Mormon's and got TONS of compliments, comments and press!! Even Ryker was dressed up with us.
The only complaints I have about this ride are my wrists are killing me and my ASS is on fire!!! I know it gets better the more you ride but GEESH!!!
Doing this was a good distraction for me as there has been A LOT going on and according to the guys I "killed" it on climbing the biggest hill (Holly St) so I am satisfied. :) and sore.
